Pat Ross Marx received her MS in Art Education from Florida International University and Bachelor Degree from State University of New York at Buffalo.  In 2008 she was juried into the Signature Status of the Pastel Painter’s Society of Cape Cod and elected to Signature Status in the Pastel Society of America in 2009 where in 2013 she was titled Master Pastelist.  Ross Marx has been the recipient of both local and national awards and been published a number of times as a winner in the international competition of the Pastel Journal magazine. In 2017 she was published in the book, Art Journey Abstract Painting: A Celebration of Contemporary Art by North Light/Impact Books.

Ross Marx is a pastel painter devoted to creating elusive abstractions and non-representational expressions based on nature and recalled memories.  However ultimately, she is interested in drawing the viewer into experiencing the texture, depth, detail, design and lush colors of the artwork rather than eliciting a direct interpretation to a scene.
