Anne Gable Allaire
Before moving to Kennebunk/Kennebunkport, ME. in 1979, Anne Gable Allaire received her BFA in painting and design at Drake University and the University of Nebraska. Anne then worked as a commercial interior designer for an architectural firm in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN and a design firm in the Detroit, MI. She has always loved painting and drawing and was introduced to the pastel medium at the age of twelve. As her own children grew older she focused on a career in Fine Art. In 1997/98 Anne was diagnosed with a rare disease (amyloidosis). Treatment consisted of a Heart transplant and a stem cell transplant. While waiting for her new heart, Anne painted in her hospital room and found inspiration that brought her work to a new level. Today she is grateful for her good health and continues to produce her work with inspired passion.
