Written Critique Services
The Pastel Society of America has expanded its critique services to better serve the needs of member artists. Rather than one artist doing all evaluations, we now have four PSA-Master Pastelists with expertise in different genres, one of which may be particularly relevant to the artist. For a small fee ($65 non-members and $50 members), artists will receive a 350 word or more evaluation of their paintings, focusing on drawing, color, value, technique, and composition, all aimed at expanding artistic options and producing paintings of high competitive quality.
Artists interested in this service may send three in-focus jpg images to the PSA office. Each image should be photographed or scanned in-focus without frames or matting, 1200 pixels or more on the longest side file. Include, if you can, no more than three additional images of source materials, such as a photo references or drawings that relate to the submitted artwork.
