Finding Your Freedom Through Observation, Exploration, and Joy

with Adrian Giuliani PSA

Live on Zoom

Mondays, 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm Eastern Time

Class Overview:

In this weekly PSA Studio class, artists work from life to explore still life, florals, and self-portraits with a bold, fresh outlook.

The focus is on observation, exploration, and unlocking a sense of freedom in your work. Adrian encourages artists to see familiar subjects in new ways while building a strong foundation in drawing and observation. From that foundation, students are guided toward experimentation and a less precious approach to the creative process, allowing discovery and creativity to flourish.

Students learn how uncertainty and experimentation can strengthen their work, helping them trust their instincts and find joy in painting. The class supports artists in developing their own artistic voice while working fearlessly and with curiosity.

Hybrid, Weekly Studio Class

Thursdays – 1:00 – 4:00 PM EST
PSA Studio, National Arts Club, New York City, and on Zoom

Class Overview:

Color and composition form the foundation of strong, expressive painting. In this ongoing hybrid studio class, Maceo Mitchell helps artists deepen their understanding of how these two elements work together to create clarity, mood, and visual impact. With an emphasis on observation, thoughtful design, and sensitivity to color relationships, students explore ways to move beyond simply recording a subject toward creating more intentional, cohesive paintings.

Working primarily in pastel, though other compatible media are welcome, participants may paint from still life, reference images, or personal subject matter. Individual feedback, group discussion, and instructor guidance create a supportive environment in which artists with a range of experience levels can strengthen their skills and artistic voice.
