This in studio PSA Studio class is designed for artists of all experience levels who want to strengthen their understanding of composition and color while working in landscape and life drawing.

Students are guided through the full creative process, from selecting and refining source material to applying pastel techniques that support expressive, well designed paintings. Emphasis is placed on seeing the essential elements of a subject and making thoughtful choices that clarify structure, mood, and visual impact.

Working primarily in pastel, artists learn how composition and color work together to convey atmosphere, light, and a sense of place. The class encourages both observation and interpretation, helping students develop confidence in their visual decisions.

Instructor Bio

Georgette Sinclair is an award winning artist who works primarily in pastel, known for landscapes and city scenes that emphasize mood, light, and the quiet poetry of everyday places. Born in Romania, she began formal art training at a young age and later continued her studies in New York, including at the Art Students League.

Georgette has exhibited widely and is an active member of New York’s art community. Her teaching focuses on helping artists see more clearly, simplify effectively, and develop paintings that feel both intentional and expressive.

Materials and Studio Setup

• Soft pastels in a range of values including lights, midtones, and darks
• Preferred pastel surfaces and working sizes
• Drawing tools such as charcoal or pastel pencils
• Erasers, paper towels, and basic studio supplies
• Reference material for landscape and life drawing, as discussed in class
