Pastel Society of America sponsors an annual international juried exhibition every year in September at the National Arts Club, a renowned landmark building overlooking Gramercy Park in New York City..
Three prestigious judges are selected to award over $20,000 in prizes. Approximately 200 pastel paintings are selected from over 1300 entries which come from all over the United States and the world. It attracts the best of artists and shows the many styles possible with the use of pastels.

During the exhibition pastel demonstrations are held on weekends by outstanding pastel artists These are made available to the public. Subjects include landscape, still-life, portrait in different techniques. They and the exhibition attract many visitors.

An outstanding artist is selected as Honoree, to be honored at the exhibition. Several of his or her paintings are displayed together and a special plaque is presented to the Honoree. This plaque and the awards are presented at the opening reception. A dinner is held afterwards.



Member Exhibitions

Special exhibitions are held for members at various galleries around the New York area, and in various locations in the United States, and throughout the world as far as China. Pastel Society of America provides members an opportunity to showcase their artwork at regional shows throughout the year.
