Claire Paisner

Biography

Claire Paisner has pursued a dual career as journalist/writer and fine artist.  She now works exclusively in pastel, specializing in scenes of New York City, where she resides. In her paintings, which have won prizes at a variety of juried shows, she attempts to convey the vibrancy of the city through the use of vivid color, impressionist-type strokes, and walking figures caught in motion.  Born in Boston, she is a graduate of Cornell University with a Master’s from Harvard. Her pastels appear in the books “Best of Pastel 2” (1998) and “Art of Pastel in France” (2005). She is listed in “Who’s Who in American Art” (Marquis 2008). She is a member of the Board of Governors of the Pastel Society of America and edits the organization’s magazine Pastelagram as well as their Annual Exhibition Catalog. She is represented  by J. Lippmann Fine Arts of Irvington-on-Hudson, N.Y.
